Dr. Tendai Ndoro is a woman of integrity, perseverance, ambition and courage who to lives by examples in excellence. As a teacher, mentor and entrepreneur, her ambitions are infectious and motivate others to willingly give more to the task or challenge at hand, bringing the best in others. With the belief that only through education can a girl child expand the options of her universe, Dr. Ndoro’s mission has been to empower women and girls to be self sufficient leaders of their communities and aspire to reach their dreams through learning, adopting positive life skills; engaging in sustainable entrepreneurship, support public service and volunteerism.

As CEO of her company EDCTrainers, LLC (dba SLIPPA – Strategy Leadership Institute in Private & Public Affairs) founded in 1990, she has engaged in various global projects in Africa. Projects included the of training West African scholars in education who were alumni of the African American Institute about leadership and public sector strategic management conducted in the Gambia, West Africa. She has helped 220 women entrepreneurs in Zvishavene, Zimbabwe with small business management of their cooperative entrepreneurial seed projects funded by Oxfam providing them with business knowledge and tools that helped them to reinvest back into their families to alleviate poverty as well as support the education of their children; Under projects funded by the USAID, African Development Bank, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and UNDP, Dr. Ndoro has conducted train-the-trainer; capacity building and manpower development training for NGO leaders, Bankers, business decision makers, management consultants, and economic/community development specialists in Zimbabwe & Uganda. Through the Association of Enterprise Opportunities (AEO), Dr. Ndoro has provided capacity building training to economic & community development specialist in West Virginia, New Orleans, LA and Essex County, New Jersey. As Director at Rutgers University/Rutgers Business School, she is responsible for small business development in Essex County. Through an initiative with Ernest & Young she is helping Rutgers Business School accounting students gain experiential learning with small businesses in New Jersey. In collaboration with various private/public partnerships she has taught small business development to Prudential Young Entrepreneurs; the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) and RU Ready for Work high school students in Newark, NJ as well as taught entrepreneurship to young girl scouts in Essex and Hudson Counties.

Whether she is working globally as CEO of EDCTrainers, LLC/SLIPPA or as a public sector economic development expert, in the United States, she has continued to support self-sufficiency through entrepreneurship, leadership and strategic management. In the last 2 years, she has participated as a focus group expert for the Obama Administration through the Small Business Administration, US Commercial Services, Overseas Private Investment Council (OPIC), and White House Entrepreneurship Summit, Minority Business Development Agency and various local state and local government entities. In 2012, Dr. Ndoro is recognized for NJ Garden State Woman of the Year – Global Impact Award and Minority Enterprise Advocate’s 50 Women of Power in Business for her work with SLIPPA and Rutgers Business School SBDC respectively; In 2011 she received the Rutgers- Newark SBDC Women Entrepreneurship Network award for promoting women businesses in New Jersey and in 2010 she received the US Commercial Services International Trade award for supporting small businesses trade in the City of Newark, NJ. Dr. Ndoro’s skills in private and public sector organization & program development; strategic management and performance measurements enable her to manage for efficiency and effectiveness, with results that have positive impact on the lives of people and communities she serves. Her demonstrated extensive experiences as a business woman and public sector administrator allow her to adapt and overcome restrictive working environments producing sustainable outcomes. Dr. Ndoro truly brightens the corner where ever she is!.
